American Chow Mein Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/4 cup butter or shortening | ||
| 2 cup cooked pork, beef, veal or chicken, cut in thin strips | ||
| 1 cup onions, sliced thin | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/16 Teaspoon | |
| Bean sprouts | 1 Can (10oz), mixed | |
| Chinese vegetables, drained well | ||
| Celery | 2 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Hot water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Melt butter or shortening in hot skillet.
Add onions, fry 3 minutes.
Add celery, salt, pepper, and hot water.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Add drained bean sprouts or Chinese vegetables and meat.
Mix thoroughly and cook 5 minutes covered.
Combine the following flavoring/thickening:
