American Chicken Chop Suey Recipe
American Chicken Chopsuey! This delicious fried noodle dish is such a delight to prepare and serve! Trust me the American Chicken Chopsuey offers a palette of wonderful flavors and textures that you will never get tired of. Try it!
Ingredients
2 tbsp oil
2 flakes of garlic crushed
2-3 spring onions chopped
2-3 mushrooms shredded
3 tbsp bean sprouts
1 medium sized carrot shredded
6-7 tbsp shredded cabbage
50 gms each of shredded chicken, prawns and ham
1/4 tsp each of salt and ajinomoto
1/2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp soya sauce
4 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp sherry/gin
1 cup chicken stock or 1 seasoning cube dissolved in 1 cup water
3 tsp cornflour
TOPPING
1 egg fried
CRISPY NOODLES
100 gms chow noodles
Oil for deep frying
Directions
Deep fry the noodles in two batches, in hot smoking oil until crisp and golden brown.
Keep aside.
In a wok, heat oil, saute garlic.
Add chicken, ham and prawns.
Fry to a pale colour.
Stir fry in sequence spring onions, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, carrot, cabbage.
Reduce heat.
Add chicken stock, sauces and seasonings.
Cook for 2 minutes.
Mix cornflour with water and add to make a thick sauce.
Further cook for 2-3 minutes till thick.
In a serving dish, put the crispy noodles (noodles fried in oil).
Pour the meat & vegetables on the crispy noodles.
Place a fried egg on top.
