Alsatian Sauerkraut Recipe
Ingredients
| Bacon strips | ||
| Sauerkraut | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Polish sausage | ||
| Pork chops | 4 , smoked | |
| Whole peeled potatoes | ||
| Juniper berries | ||
| White wine | 1 Bottle (1l) | |
Directions
Place bacon strips in bottom of 2-quart casserole; arrange half the sauerkraut over bacon.
Cut sausage into 2-inch pieces; place pork chops and sausages over sauerkraut layer.
Place potatoes over pork chops and sausages.
Top with remaining sauerkraut.
Add additional bacon strips; sprinkle with juniper berries.
Cover with wine.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.
