Ingredients

 
2 16-ounce bags or cans sauerkraut, drained
 
1 16-ounce package knackwurst, cut into 1-inch pieces
 
4 medium-sized potatoes cut into 1/4 inch-thick slices
 
1/2 small head green cabbage thinly sliced
 
1 red cooking apple, cut into thin wedges
 
1 cup white grape juice
 
2 tablespoons brown sugar
 
2 tablespoons salad oil
 
3 pounds pork loin country-style ribs, cut into serving-sized pieces

Directions

1. In 14 1/2 by 11 1/2" roasting pan, mix first 7 ingredients; set aside.
2. In 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, in hot oil, cook ribs until browned on both sides. Tuck ribs into sauerkraut. Cover pan with foil and bake in 350°F. oven 1 1/2 hours.
3. Uncover pan and bake 30 minutes longer, occasionally basting mixture with liquid in pan, until meat and potatoes are fork-tender.
