Almond - Strawberry Puffette Recipe

Ingredients
Milk-1 cup
All-purpose flour-2 tablespoons
Butter-2 tablespoons
Salt-1/8 teaspoon
Almond extract-1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla extract-1/4 teaspoon
Almonds-3 tablespoons, finely crushed
Sugar-3 tablespoons
Eggs-4, separated
Sweetened whipped cream (about 3/4 cup)- 2 cups
Sweetened crushed strawberries-1/2 cup
Directions
GETTING READY
1)Preheat oven to 350° F.
MAKING
2)On top double boiler, scald milk.
3)Slowly, beat together flour and butter and add into hot milk.
4)Cook in top of double boiler over hot water, stirring, for 10 minutes.
5)Add salt, extracts, almonds, sugar and well beaten egg yolks.
6)In a bowl, stiffly beat egg whites and add to the mixture.
7)Take a 1 1/2-quart buttered casserole and pour the mixture.
8)Place it in a pan of hot water and bake uncovered in 350 degrees oven for 50 minutes or until puffed and firm.
SERVING
9)Serve at once with whipped cream mixed with strawberries.
