Almond Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| Hydrogenated shortening | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Almond extract | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Sifted all purpose flour | 3 Cup (48 tbs) | |
| Blanched whole almonds | 3 Dozen |
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Cream together the shortening, sugar, egg, and almond extract.
Stir in the flour 1 cup at a time.
The dough will be very stiff.
Form dough into round balls the size of small wal nuts.
Place on a greased baking sheet and flatten to form thick rounds.
Press an al mond into the center of each cookie.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove, and cool on a wire rack.
Store in an airtight container.
