Almond Cigars Recipe
Almond Cigars are a delightful addition to your dinner spread for your party. This tasty appetizer will surely get your guests rushing to the table and asking for second serves sooner than you can imagine!! Trust me, the Almond Cigars is going to be a hit! Try it! !
Ingredients
| 20 sheets filo pastry | ||
| Ground almonds | 250 Gram | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cinnamon | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Melted butter | 250 Gram | |
| SYRUP | ||
| Sugar | 21/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 12/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cinnamon stick | 1 | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Fold pastry in two lengthwise.
Cut the folded filo pastry in two, across the length.
Mix together the nuts, sugar and cinnamon.
Brush each strip of pastry with melted butter and place 2 teaspoons of the nut mixture at the end of each strip.
Roll up like a cigar and brush with butter.
Place on a baking sheet and bake in a moderate oven 180C (350F) for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove to a rack and pour the cold syrup over the warm cigars.
SYRUP: Place all ingredients in a saucepan.
Bring to the boil over allow heat and then simmer for 10 minutes.
Cool.
