Almond Calissons Recipe

Ingredients
| Almond paste | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Confectioner’s sugar | 1 Pound, sifted | |
| Egg white | 1 | |
| Maple syrup | 1 Tablespoon, blended | |
| Red Food Color | 10 Drop | |
| Cherries | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), candied | |
| Toasted almonds | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped |
Directions
Place 1 (8-oz.) can almond paste in a large bowl with 1 lb. confectioners sugar, sifted, 1 egg white and 1 tablespoon maple blended syrup.
Knead mixture until it becomes smooth and pliable.
Add 8 to 10 drops red food color and knead well into this marzipan mixture.
The color should be pale pink.
Knead 1/4 cup chopped candied cherries into marzipan, and then 1/2 cup chopped toasted almonds.
Divide into 8 equal portions.
Form each portion into a 1/4-inch-thick roll.
Cut each roll into 2-inch lengths.
Knead mixture until it becomes smooth and pliable.
