Ingredients

 Almond paste1 Can (10oz)
 Confectioner’s sugar1 Pound, sifted
 Egg white1
 Maple syrup1 Tablespoon, blended
 Red Food Color 10 Drop
 Cherries1/4 Cup (16 tbs), candied
 Toasted almonds1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped

Directions

Place 1 (8-oz.) can almond paste in a large bowl with 1 lb. confectioners sugar, sifted, 1 egg white and 1 tablespoon maple blended syrup.
Knead mixture until it becomes smooth and pliable.
Add 8 to 10 drops red food color and knead well into this marzipan mixture.
The color should be pale pink.
Knead 1/4 cup chopped candied cherries into marzipan, and then 1/2 cup chopped toasted almonds.
Divide into 8 equal portions.
Form each portion into a 1/4-inch-thick roll.
Cut each roll into 2-inch lengths.

This is a wonderful example of Americans taking a wonderful french product and murdering it. The equivalent would be covering your cheese souffle in ketchup. Unbelievable disrespect and lack of appreciation.
