Almond Biscuits Recipe
These almond biscuits are snacky little treats that can be served with tea or coffee. Baked with a simple batter of flour, eggs, sugar, milk, almonds and almond essence, these almond biscuits are crispy and light and can be stored in air tight containers.
Ingredients
150 gms. plain flour
75 gms. white butter
75 gms. castor sugar
1/2 egg
A pinch of baking powder
Few drops almond essence
50 gms. almonds, chopped
5 ml. milk
Directions
Sieve together the flour and baking powder.
Cream the butter and sugar.
Add the essence and mix well.
Add the egg, beat well.
Add the almonds, flour and milk and bind into a soft dough.
Cover and refrigerate for 1.5 hour.
Roll the dough, into a 1 cm thick sheet.
Cut into desired shape, using a biscuit cutter.
Pre heat the oven on 'convection' 180° C, with the lightly greased metal tray, placed on the high rack.
Place the biscuits 2 cm apart, on the metal tray and bake at 180° C for 18:00 minutes.
