Almond Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup finely crushed unsalted cracker crumbs
1/2 cup blanched whole almonds, coarsely ground
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons browned butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon each white pepper and garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated lemon peel
Unbleached flour, if needed
Directions
Mix together all ingredients, chill and form into small balls, using flour if needed to make a workable dough.
Drop by half teaspoonfuls into gently boiling salted water or broth; cook 5 minutes or until balls rise to surface.
