Almond Brandy Torte Recipe
Ingredients
| Eggs | 3 | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground mace | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Grated rind of 2 lemons | ||
| 1 cup fine dry bread crumbs | ||
| 1 cup good-quality brandy | ||
| Blanched almonds | 1 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Simple Lemon Icing | ||
| Toasted almonds, cut into halves | ||
Directions
Beat eggs and sugar until light.
Add mace and lemon rind.
Stir in bread crumbs and brandy alternately.
Blend in almonds.
Pour into greased and floured deep 8-inch cake pan.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for 30 to 35 minutes, or until cake tests done.
Cool.
Ice with Simple Lemon Icing.
Decorate top with toasted almond halves.
