All-American Hot Dish Recipe

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1 can (8 ounces) whole kernel corn
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/4 cup halved pitted ripe olives
4 ounces uncooked noodles
2 cups water
1 teaspoon oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
Directions
Cook and stir meat and onion in large skillet until meat is brown.
Drain off fat.
Stir in corn (with liquid) and remaining ingredients.
to cook in skillet: heat mixture to boiling.
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender, about 20 minutes.
to cook in oven: Pour mixture into ungreased 2 quart casserole.
Cover and bake in 375° oven 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Uncover and bake until mixture thickens, about 15 minutes.
