Ingredients

 
Dissolve
 
1 tsp. sugar in
 
1/2 C. lukewarm water, and adc
 
1 tbsp. yeast
 
Let rise for 10 minutes
 
In a large bowl combine
 
1/2 c. white sugar
 
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
 
1 tepTsalt
 
2 tbsp. vinegar
 
31/2 c. lukewarm water

Directions

Add risen yeast mixture.
Stir in 8-10 cups flour just enough so dough will not stick to hands.
Mix well.
Place dough in a greased bowl.
Cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled. (2 hrs.)
Knead down.
Cover and let rise 1 more hour.
Knead down.
Form into buns, the size of red crabapples.
Place on greased cookie sheets, bread pans or muffin tins. (Do not put too close on pans)
Cover with tea towel, and let rise 3 hours.
Bake at 375° until golden brown about 15 minutes or less.
After removing from pans, brush with melted butter, or a sweet glaze of 2 tsp. sugar and 1 tsp. milk.
