Beef - 300 grams, cut into cubes
 
Peanut Oil OR Vegetable Oil - 3 tablespoons
 
Onions - 2,1 sliced for seasoning the beef and 1 blended
 
Fresh Tomatoes - 2
 
Tomato Paste - 2 tablespoons
 
Garlic - 4 cloves, crush
 
Carrot - 1, cut into cubes
 
Potatoes - 2, cut into pieces
 
Black Pepper - 1 tablespoon
 
Chili - optional
 
Chicken OR Beef Seasonings OR Maggi Jumbo - 2
 
Salt - to taste
 
Water - as required
 
Other Vegetables that you can add: Cassava, Pumpkin, Cabbage (Optional)

Directions

MAKING
1. Season the beef with 1 tablespoon black pepper, salt, garlic and the sliced onion.
2. Mix the whole thing together.
3. In a saucepan heat 3 tablespoons of oil then fry the seasoned beef for 2 minutes.
4. Next, in a big bowl mash the fresh tomatoes.
5. Then, add the tomato paste with the carrot and add to the saucepan.
6. Stir very well and then add one cup of water.
7. The amount of water should make the beef tender, so if you think that amount is not enough add more water.
8. Let it simmer for 15 minutes or until the beef absorbs almost all the liquid.
9. Then, add the potatoes with the chili and blended or crushed onion.
10. Then add 1 cup of water, with chicken or beef seasoning.
11. Add salt to the soup and let simmer for 20 minutes.

SERVING
12. Then serve with rice or bread, or even couscous. And enjoy!
