Adas Pollo Recipe
Ingredients
| Rice | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Onions | 2 , sliced | |
| Vegetable oil | ||
| Beef | 1 Pound | |
| 2 Tbsp. salt or less | ||
| Black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Lentils | 1 Cup (16 tbs), cooked | |
| Raisin | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Saffron | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Potatoes | 2 | |
Directions
Wash rice.
In a frying pan, fry onions in oil.
Add sliced or cubed beef.
Add spices and salt and pepper.
Let cook till beef is tender.
Fry raisins in a little oil.
Mix saffron in 1/2 cup water.
Boil some water in a large stew pan and add some salt, then add rice for about 10 minutes.
Strain rice and wash with cold water.
Line the bottom of a small baking dish with sliced or cubed potatoes.
Add rice, lentils and beef.
Pour saffron mixture over them.
Put raisins on top.
Put on lid and cook for 30 minutes at 250° to 300°F.
Allow to simmer and steam.
