Ingredients

 
3 medium acorn squash (approximately 3 pounds)
 
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
 
1/2 teaspoon pepper
 
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
 
3/4 cup butter or margarine
 
4 cups button mushrooms (1 pound)
 
6 slices lime

Directions

Wash acorn squash.
Dry, cut in half lengthwise and remove seeds.
Sprinkle each squash with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
In each hollow, place 1 tablespoon butter or margarine.
(Save rest for later.) Place on a shallow baking tray.
Cover with foil.
Bake at 400 °F. for 40 minutes or until tender.
Drain any butter sitting in hollows of squash into a skillet.
Add rest of butter to this.
Saute" mushrooms until tender, approximately 5—7 minutes.
Fill each squash half with about 3/4 cup of the mushrooms.
Garnish each serving with 1 slice lime.
