Acorn Squash With Brown Sugar Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 acorn squash, cut in half, seeds removed | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon, melted | |
| 1/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar | ||
| Walnuts | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1/4 teaspoon each: salt, pepper, and ground cinnamon | ||
| 1/4 teaspoon each: salt, pepper, and ground cinnamon | ||
Directions
Cover acorn squash halves with cold water in a large saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat and continue cooking for 20 minutes or until the squash are just fork tender, yet firm.
Drain and cool.
Peel squash and cut into 1/2-inch rings.
Mix melted butter with sugar, salt, pepper, and ground cinnamon.
Brush squash rings with flavored butter.
Preheat stovetop grill.
Grill squash rings over medium heat for 1 minute on each side.
Squash will begin to brown on each side.
Place on serving plate and sprinkle with walnuts.
