Acorn Elegante Recipe
Ingredients
| Acorn squash | 3 Medium | |
| Onion | 2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Mushrooms - 1 6-ounce can sliced , drained | ||
| Parsley | 2 Tablespoon, snipped | |
| Salt | 1 To taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
| Processed American cheese - 1 cup shredded | ||
| Buttered cornflake crumbs - 1 tablespoon | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1.Cut the ends of squash and cut it in in 1 inch slices.
2.Take the seeds out and discard.
3.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
MAKING
4.Bake the sqush for 30- 35 minutes after placing it with cut side down on a baking pan.
5.Take a skillet, heat butter or margarine in it and cook onions until soft.
6.Put mushrooms and parsley in it.
7.Turn the squash making the cut side up and add a sprinkling of salt and pepper to it.
8.Fill the squash cavities with onion mixture and bake for 15- 20 minutes.
9.Add cheese and buttered cornflake crumbs as topping and bake for more time until cheese begins to melt.
SERVING
10.Serve warm.
