Ingredients
1 cup acini di pepe or other small pasta, cooked and drained
3/4 cup milk
1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple in juice,drained, reserving
1/2 cup juice
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
Whipped topping, for serving
Directions
Cook acini di pepe according to package directions; drain well.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Grease 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
Combine pasta, milk, reserved 1/2 cup pineapple juice, the eggs, granulated sugar, lemon peel and cinnamon in large bowl.
Spoon mixture into prepared pan.
Top with pineapple.
Combine brown sugar, walnuts and flour in small bowl; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle over pineapple.
Bake 60 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean.
