Acadian Blueberry Grunt Recipe
Ingredients
| Blueberries | 1 Quart | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 4 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tablespoon each butter and shortening | ||
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Combine berries, water, and sugar in a large saucepan; cover and cook until there is plenty of juice.
Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Cut in butter and shortening, then, mixing with a fork, add enough milk to make a soft dough.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto the hot blueberry sauce.
Cover tightly and cook 15 minutes without peeking.
Serve hot with cream if desired.
