Italian Chopped Meat Pasta Sauce Recipe Video
Ingredients
Leftover meat - cut into 1/2-inch chunks
Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
Garlic - 2 cloves, crushed
Green onion - 1, chopped
Beef stock (or water) - 1 cup
Milk (or cream) - 1/2 cup
Pasta sauce - 1 jar
Salt - to taste
Pepper - to taste
Dried Italian herbs - a pinch
Directions
MAKING
1) In a saute pan, add the oil and then the pieces of meat.
2) Brown the meat over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes.
3) Add the green onions and garlic and continue to saute for another 2 minutes, till the vegetables are soft.
4) Add the stock (or water) and continue cooking the mixture.
5) Next, add the milk or cream, cook for a few minutes and reduce the heat to a simmer.
6) Add the pasta sauce to the meat mixture and cook on a simmer till the meat is entirely cooked. This usually takes about 45 minutes. In case the sauce looks too thick, add some water and stir well.
7) Season the sauce with salt, pepper and Italian herbs. Cook for another 5 minutes.
SERVING
8) Serve the meat sauce while it is still hot. Goes really well with pastas. Can also be served as a side dish to a variety of preparations.
