Ingredients

 Apricot1 Can (10oz)
 Brown sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Ground cloves1/4 Teaspoon
 Fully cooked ham steak - 2 1/2-lb , 1 inch thick
 All-purpose flour - 2/3 cup
 Baking powder1 Teaspoon
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Sugar2 Teaspoon
 Instant minced onion1 Teaspoon
 Whole-kernel corn - 1 can (12 oz), drained
 Eggs2
 Butter - 6 tablespoons, for cooking
 Milk1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Frozen asparagus spears - 2 pkg (10-oz size)
 Lemon1

Directions

GETTING READY
1. Drain apricots, reserving syrup.
2. Preheat oven to 475F.
3. Place one oven rack on lowest rung in oven.
4. Lightly grease two cookie sheets and place on lowest rack in oven to heat.

MAKING
5. In a large skillet, combine brown sugar, cloves and the reserved syrup.
6. Bring to boiling; add ham steak; simmer gently, covered, 25 to 30 minutes.
7. Place 6 apple dumplings in a baking pan and bake as package label directs.
8. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, minced onion, the whole-kernel corn, eggs, 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine and milk.
9. With wooden spoon, stir just until combined.
10. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto hot cookie sheets, to make 12 cakes.
11. Bake on lowest rack of oven 5 minutes. Turn with spatula; bake 5 minutes longer. Keep warm until serving.
12. Cook asparagus as package label directs; drain.
13. Drizzle with juice of 1/2 lemon and 2 tablespoons melted butter. Top with lemon slices.
14. Add drained apricots to ham and simmer until just heated.

SERVING
15. Arrange ham and apricots on a serving platter. Spoon glaze liquid on top.
Serve with dumplings and asparagus on the side.
16. Turn coleslaw into salad bowl and garnish with chopped parsley.
