5 Spice Roasted Carrots Recipe Video
I've had a lot of requests lately for easy, but different, vegetable side dishes. So, today's video recipe is an extremely easy, yet unusual, carrot side dish using one of my favorite "secret" ingredients; Chinese 5-spice.
Ingredients
Carrots - 8, large
Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
Chinese 5 Spice - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Directions
GETTING READY:
1) Preheat oven to temperature of 375 degrees.
2) Bias (diagonally) cut the carrots.
MAKING
3) Put the carrots in an ovenproof dish and add the oil, salt and 5 Spice.
4) Toss the carrots well with your hands so that the pieces are well coated.
5) Place in the oven and let the carrots roast for about 45 minutes. If preferred, toss the carrots halfway through the cooking time.
SERVING
6) Serve the carrots while they are still hot. These make an excellent side dish. Can also be served as an appetizer.

Editors Review
I never liked bland roasted carrots with my roasts and grills but this is a wonderful way to spice up sweet carrots. You will leave the potatoes untouched if you have these spiced carrots on your plate. They are indeed as easy to make as shown in the video.Comments
