There is one thing you wouldn't like on your James Bond - a beer belly. Therefore, it is quite disheartening to see one of the most suave James Bond heroes - Pierce Brosnan - going the paunch way. He was the proverbial tall, dark and handsome James Bond on screen, and, perhaps, the most suave. However, it seems that by not playing the secret agent anymore has cost the Irish actor Pierce Brosnan his fit form. The actor was recently seen running a few errands and onlookers were shocked to see him having a slight paunch. Wearing a crisp white shirt and blue jeans, his stomach was seen drooping over his waistband. This image was quite a far cry from the crisp image of the world's most loved spy, whom Brosnan played four times on the big screen before he was replaced by Daniel Craig in 1995.
The reason why Pierce is unaffected by his new look is because he has other issues on his mind, for example, environmental conservation, and as we all know, the paunch is to eventually come with age. The former James Bond star, his wife Keely Shaye Smith, and their two sons, Dylan, 13, and Pairs, 8, are preparting to move into a new house on the beach in Malibu, which has been built per eco-standards. Among other things, the house is fitted with a waste disposal system, a £250,000 energy-saving lighting system, and a solar-energy driven compost heap.
Since Pierce has been actively involved in the construction of the house, he seems to have put staying in shape aside. The 57-year-old Brosnan, though, seemed unperturbed by his newfound belly even though it is unlikely that anybody is now going to ask him to become the sexy spy he once was.
