Beef & Pork Meat Filled Manicotti
14 pieces (8 ounces) manicotti, uncooked
1 pound ground beef chuck
1/2 pound ground pork sausage
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup flavored bread crumbs
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
3 1/2 cups (32-ounce jar) spaghetti sauce (regular thickness)
Grated Parmesan cheese
Cook manicotti according to package directions about 10 minutes; drain.
Microwave beef, sausage and onion in 3-quart micro-proof bowl covered with wax paper on medium (1/2 power) for 6 to 8 minutes or until browned; drain.
Stir in bread crumbs, oregano, basil, garlic salt and mozzarella cheese; microwave on medium for 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted when stirred.
Fill manicotti with meat mixture.
Place 1/2 of manicotti (7 pieces) in each of two 9-inch square micro-proof pans.
Top each with 1 1/2 cups spaghetti sauce, carefully covering manicotti.
Cover; microwave each dish on medium-high (2/3 power) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
