I was really very tired having those flavorless vodkas all the time and wondered if nothing new could come up for vodka lovers like me. This was when my friend Neeta told me about flavored vodka – the new fad in town. Have you heard about flavored vodka? If you try to find out you will get to know that there are several kinds of vodkas which are beyond flavorless vodkas and include some great flavors.

If you choose to have flavored vodka, you have two choices for yourself. You can make your own flavored vodka which is also known as infused vodka or you can have some great commercially produced vodka. You can choose any flavor and brand vodka as per your preference and need... but yes, be prepared for a pinch on your pocket!

If you choose to have flavored vodka, you will get a great taste in all your cocktails. If you do not wish to buy commercial flavored vodkas you can make infused vodkas for your everyday drink and even as your party drink. Suppose you are making your own infused vodka, you can bring a variety in your drinks here too. You can prepare different kinds of flavors for your whole week and even for the next few months. You can have one type of vodka in the morning and another type for your evening party.

Here are some common types of flavored vodka:

Apple flavored vodka – As the name suggests, this vodka has the taste of apples as fresh apples are used in the making of this vodka. Apples are used along with some special spices and herbs in the making of this vodka.

Lime vodka – This is the most common type of vodka available and is loved by everyone. Lime vodka is popular in evening parties and many people believe that it is great for digestion too. Lime vodka is made of fresh lime juice and is often served with slices of lemon also. Lime flavor adds a special tang to the drink and is loved with spicy foods like chicken or lamb chops.

Whipped cream vodka – This is a special vodka which can be drunk only occasionally as it is made of whipped cream. Women love to pamper themselves with whipped cream vodka on special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and even on weddings. Whipped cream vodka tastes best when eaten with fruit salads.

Fruit punch vodka – This has one of the best flavors as you have several fruits punched in one drink. You get the flavor of apples, lime, pineapple, cherries, bananas, berries and all fruits you can think about. In fact in several restaurants you are offered the option of choosing your own fruits.

Banana vodka – This is a banana and fresh herbs vodka. It is served with a slice of banana which is neither too raw nor too ripe. Banana flavored vodka is popular in all girl’s parties.
