Chinese Banana Roll

A common pastry, found in Hong Kong, the Chinese Banana roll is made, again, with glutinous rice. This roll has nothing to do with banana as an ingredient. The name is given to it for its banana-like shape. Though, at times, this pastry is flavored with vanilla.

A long time ago there was a Hong Kong bakery near where I lived. The owners grew old, and the kids never took up the business. I thought I would never see my favorite foods again. Thank you.
