Sushi, popularly known as the Japanese preparation of fish is actually though to have been introduced into Japan by China. The original sushi was initially a way to preserve fish. Sushi today is served as a combination of shellfish and marinated/cooked/raw fish with seasoned rice at times with vegetables and eggs, wrapped in seaweed. Soy sauce or Wasabi (spicy mustard sauce) at times accompanies sushi.
