Sprouts Salad

Sprouts Salad is a dish consisting of raw or cooked germinating seeds of cereals, pulses, and vegetables.

Some of the sprouts that are included in salads are:

1. cereals- oat, buckwheat, maize, maut, amaranth, quinoa and wheat.

2. pulses: soyabean, mung bean, alfaalfa, chickpea, lentil and pea

3. vegetable sprouts- broccoli, cabbage, spinach, celery, carrot, fennel, oil, parsley, turnip, radish, leek, lemon grass, lettuce

Sprouts salad is considered as healthy dish and is eaten for breakfast or served as a side dish during lunch.

As spring denotes growth and prosperity, sprouts salads are made on this special day to signify growth and fertility. Sprouts of bean, alfalfa, green leaves, pumpkin, lentil, clover, broccoli, onion, mustard, and radish are some of the sprouts that can be used to make a salad. The salad is topped with any dressing of choice.
