Sooji Halwa

Sooji is the Indian name for semolina. Sooji ka halwa is a significant Indian dessert as it is prepared on festivals as an offering to the God. It is prepared by heating sooji in clarified butter, sugar, milk and nuts or raisins. It is always served hot.
It can also be addressed as semolina pudding which is rich in cashews, almonds, pistachio and raisins, etc. Popular sooji halwa recipe is Upma, which is cooked with vegetables and salt.
