Saag is a side-dish made of spinach consumed in India and Pakistan. A Saag is often spices up with mustard leaves and other spices like turmeric and cumin to make it taste batter. It is usually served with chapatis, rice or naan. Saag is a healthy food item considering it is made with spinach which is known to be high on roughage content. Saag can also be consumed by people who are on a diet as it helps in the body metabolism. It is often prepared with potatoes and tofu or paneer.
