Quiche Casserole

Quiche Casserole is an oven baked spicy casserole prepared in the form of a pie, often having a crust at the bottom and the top. However, one of the recipe variations suggests baking the casserole without any crust. Both vegan and non-vegan variations of the casserole are popular, with the casserole being often baked after topping it with one or more cheeses.

Commonly Used Ingredients and Preparation Overview of Quiche Casseroles

The recipe for vegetable quiche casserole suggests the use of cauliflower, leeks, garlic cloves, potatoes, eggs, sour cream, veggie bouillon cubes, grated cheese, butter, chives, pepper, and salt.

The preparation process of this casserole suggests dividing the bouillon broth (prepared by melting bouillon cubes in salted water) into two halves, with one of them combined with sliced potatoes, leeks, and cauliflower, and the second half combined with sour cream, grated garlic, pepper, salt, eggs, and fresh chives. Alternate layers of sour cream mix and potato mix are arranged in a casserole saucier, and the top of the casserole is sprinkled with grated cheese, butter cubes, and dried parsley before baking.

Quiche Casserole Recipe Variations

A few popular recipe variations of quiche casserole are discussed hereunder:

  • Breakfast quiche casserole- The recipe for this casserole suggests preparing the casserole a day in advance, and then baking it in oven the next day to be eaten for breakfast. Seasoned croutons are arranged at the casserole’s bottom, topped with shredded cheddar cheese and browned sausage and encrusted with a mix of milk and eggs. The casserole is refrigerated throughout the night and baked the next day for breakfast after pouring over a warm mix of milk and mushroom soup.

  • Smoked salmon based casserole- breadcrumbs are used as the crust for this casserole. Grilled spinach and mushrooms are combined with eggs, heavy cream, pepper, salt, fresh chives, and seasoned breadcrumbs, and poured in a buttered casserole lined with breadcrumbs. The casserole is baked and served after topping it with smoked salmon, and goat cheese, and garnishing it with tomatoes.

  • Crustless quiche casserole- the crustless variant of casserole suggests combining egg substitutes, eggs, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, flour, milk, salt, cottage cheese, and baking powder with sautéed mix of zucchini, mushrooms, potatoes onions, and tomatoes, and baking the dish after topping it with mozzarella cheese, and cheddar cheese.
