Mysore Pak

A meal may be excellent and exceed all expectations, but is always considered incomplete without a dessert. Different desserts are served in different regions of the world as per the cuisines and the individual preferences. Mysore pak is a dessert from Karnataka, a state in the southern part of India. It is usually prepared exactly as per the Mysore pak recipes so that the original flavor and taste are maintained. Most Mysore pak recipes are identical and use a large amount of clarified butter and sugar thereby being extremely high on calories. Mysore pak is a delicious dish and is a favorite with a large number of people. The best part is that it brings out the flavor of chickpea due to the way it is allowed to roast in an open pan. Certain chefs in Southern India claim that if a person has Mysore pak once, chances are that the taste will never ever be forgotten.
