Masala Chai Tea

 

Masala Chai Tea or Indian spice tea is a beverage prepared by brewing the regular tea with various types of herbs and Indian spices. This tea is mostly enjoyed as a refreshing drink and at times it is considered as the luxury drink too. Outside India the term chai is synonymous with Indian spice tea. The term chai tea is used to depict a spiced milk tea which tastes different from other well-known tea varietals. Many of the coffee houses have commercialized this tea by the name of chai latte to imply that the chai is prepared with steamed milk and spice concentrate. The steamed milk is also used to prepare caffe latte too. Masala Chai Tea is also commercialized as chai tea latte.

 

Common Ingredients Required and Method of Preparing Chai Tea Latte
Milk, spices, water, and sugar – are the common ingredients required to prepare chai tea latte. The milk is boiled with water, sugar and loose leaf teas. The spices are either added along with the other ingredients or they are added towards the end of the tea preparation. The choice of spices largely varies according to the availability and taste preferences of a drinker. Various brands of masalas or spice blends used for tea preparation are popular across India. Various spice blend recipes are used throughout the country to prepare the masala chai tea. The spices and tea leaves are strained from tea before serving.
