Marc Dacascos is a professional actor who was invited to work on the Iron Chef show as the chairman. He was introduced as the nephew of the original chairman of the show who was called Takeshi Kaga. However, he is not a relative of the actor in real life. The Iron Chef show that he hosts is a variety of culinary game shows with a new chef in each episode who tries to challenge the chefs who are on the panel in a cooking competition.

He also hosted the next edition of the show that was called as The Next Iron Chef that was for an American audience. Originally, his role was to link the original Japanese format of the show to the American version. In the Japanese version of Iron Chef, the role of the Chairman was to lend credence to the back-story of the show. According to the script line, the chairman had four of the world’s best chefs on call. However, he also wanted to ensure that no other chef would be as good. He would then ask one of the world’s best chefs to participate in a cook-off in his Kitchen Stadium with his retinue of chefs. Marc now enacts the same role on the American and Australian version of the show.
