Laurent Manrique is a French born celebrity chef who now works in San Francisco in the United States. He has been a part of Michelin rated restaurants here, and is credited for two Michelin stars earned for three consecutive years by Aqua, a seafood restaurant in San Francisco. Laurent Manrique has also been taking care of a number of restaurants in San Francisco, like Cafe de la Presse and Rogue and Blanc Wine Bar. He also opened Milledime, a seafood restaurant in Carlton Hotel.
Professional Life of Chef Laurent Manrique
Laurent Manrique's interest in culinary science has its roots in his childhood when he saw his grandmother cook in the Gascon village of Rogues in France. He later worked as an apprentice with Chef Roger Duffour, followed by training with leading chefs like Yan Jacquot and Claude Deligne. He later moved to the United States, where he started working at Rex, an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. In 1992, he was appointed chef at Waldorf Astoria's Peacock Alley. Five years later, he partnered with Howard Stein to open Gertrudes. His success and popularity grew with the years. Laurent Manrique later joined Campton Palace in San Francisco, followed by his engagement as Corporate Executive Chef at Aqua. He also opened Café de la Presse and Rouge & Blanc Wine Bar in San Francisco.
In 2007, Laurent Marique partnered with Christopher Candy to form C& L Partners, a restaurant development company that participated in reopening of Fifth Floor restaurant at Palomar Hotel and other prestigious projects.
In 2010, the chef opened Milledime, a seafood restaurant in Carlton Hotel.
