Ham Salad is an Anglo-American accompaniment dish made using ham. The salad is very popular with the people of Pennsylvania, the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic as these states are reputed for curing ham.
Preparation of Ham Salad
Ham Salad is conventionally prepared using cooked ham (preferably diced or chunked) and vegetables such as cucumber and tomatoes. The meat and vegetables are mixed with mayonnaise or salad dressings and seasoned with celery, dill or sweet pickles or onions.
Serving Ham Salad
Ham salad may be used interchangeably with chicken salad, egg salad, or tuna salad, and served on sandwiches or salad greens.
