Halibut is a popular food fish that is found in north Atlantic and north pacific oceans. The halibut is a flat fish and weigh between 11 to 13 kilograms. The halibut is blackish grey on top and off-white on the bottom. The halibut is prized as a commercial and game fish. However over fishing has led to a decline in numbers of the Atlantic halibut and are on the list of fish consumers should avoid. Halibuts are baked, stewed, roasted, grilled, barbecued and prepared in a variety of ways with lemon, herbs and orange essence.
