Green Bean Soup

Green Bean Soup is a thick soup made from pureed green beans. Green beans used could be fresh or canned depending upon the availability. Many enjoy this soup during winters and some make it for summers since the beans are fresh and flavorful.

Green Bean Soup Recipe
Fresh green beans are washed and boiled in salted water. They are then sautéed along with onions and then simmered with stock for some while. The soup is thickened with mashed potatoes or wheat flour. The soup is not very high on spices or flavors; it is very bland with just the dominating green bean flavor.

Green Bean Soup Variation
A popular Asian soup made from mashed and boiled pulse green bean (mung beans) is also called green bean soup. Though both the soups are different on flavor, texture and ingredients due to the similar name they are often confused with each other.
