Fusion Noodle

Fusion noodle refers to a noodle dish prepared by combining noodles with ingredients from more than one cuisine. For example Thai noodles modified to suit western tastes may be described as Thai fusion noodles. Most of the fusion noodles are made with a combination of ingredients used in Thai, Asian, and Chinese cuisines.

Popular Fusion Noodle Dishes

Some of the popular fusion noodle dishes have been discussed here:

  • Thai Sesame Noodles with Chicken- this Thai noodle dish is inspired by the Chinese immigrants who brought in sesame noodles to Thailand. Chinese sesame noodles are combined with native Thai flavors, i.e. shrimp paste and fish sauce, to attain a flavorful noodle dish. Pure sesame oil is used to prepare this fusion noodle dish, which is regarded to be a healthy ingredient as it helps in providing the consumer with essential fatty acids.

  • Easy Stir-Fried Vermicelli Rice Noodles- this fusion noodles recipe offers a perfect blend of ingredients used in Thai and Asian cuisines, where thin vermicelli noodles of Asian cuisine are combined with Thai sauce and various other ingredients like bean sprouts, red pepper, and mushrooms. Tofu or chicken can also be added to this noodle dish. This dish is considered to be a healthy dish as the vermicelli used in its preparation is free of gluten and contains low-fat content.

  • Asian fusion noodles and steamed veggies- any type of Asian noodle, viz. wheat or rice based noodle is chosen, and combined with commonly used Chinese ingredients like sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, fresh ginger, and garlic cloves to prepare the noodle dish. This Asian fusion noodle dish is normally tossed with steamed veggies prepared by steaming together vegetables like cabbage, carrot, zucchini, mushroom, capsicum etc.

  • Indian Chinese noodles- the Indian version of the Chinese style noodles suggests combining together Indian noodles with commonly used ingredients in Chinese cuisine like sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and Hosin sauce (or any other Chinese sauce). Locally grown vegetables like carrot and cabbage are also added to this dish. This fusion noodle dish may also contain eggs, bell pepper, and baby corns. The dish is served after garnishing it with green onions.

Fusion Noodle Trivia

The noodles can also be enjoyed cold. Noodle jello is an interesting noodle dish which is prepared by combining steamed noodles with a mix of water and gelatin (produced largely in china), and refrigerated for around two hours before adding fruits to it, and serving it with wafers.
