Fresh Cherry Pie is a very close variation of the ordinary cherry pie, only with the difference that the former uses fresh cherries, preferably farm raised, as the pie filling. Using more of less the same ingredients and style of preparation, it is the flavor and sweetness of fresh cherries that sets apart the fresh cherry pie from its ordinary variation. The use of fresh cherries also makes this variety of pies a little too juicy in the filling, something the connoisseurs’ love to savor. Often made in a double crust, the fresh cherry pie is best teamed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
