English Scone

Originated in Scotland, English scone is a type of small British bread that is made up of wheat, barley or oatmeal and sugar. Apart from being very popular in United Kingdom, English scone is also widely popular in various other countries such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United States. Made up of baking powder used as a leavening agent, English scone is also used as an ingredient of cream tea or Devonshire tea. These English scones also include raisins, currants, cheese or dates frequently.
