Creamed corn is a creamy corn soup or sauce. Also known as cream-style corn, this Midwestern American corn dish is one of the most flavorful preparations of sweet corn.
Preparation of Creamed Corn
Creamed corn may be prepared at home, but is also sold commercially. Though seasonings may differ, the creamed corn is essentially made with flour, milk, butter, canned corn and desired spices. Milk is usually not included in the commercial version of the preparation. The partially pureed sweet corn adds to the flavors of the gravy. Milk and cream is used adequately in the homemade version for a rich creamy texture.
