Chocolate Pie is the simply yummy sweet pie variety made with the luscious chocolate-custard filling, often on a baked pie crust. The chocolate pie crust is often made a little flaky and almost salty. The chocolate pie filling is a mix composed of cocoa powder, milk, water, cornstarch to give the mix the desired thickness, beaten eggs, margarine or butter and some flavoring. Creamy chocolate sweetened condensed milk sometimes replaced cocoa powder, which is said to give the pie a thick, creamy consistency. The chocolate pie often tastes great and yummy when topped with whipped cream and springy meringue.They are chilled and garnished with chocolate shavings before they are served.
