Chocolate chip cheesecake also known as chip cheesecake is a popular American dessert. It consists of a crust and a creamy cheese filling baked in the oven till firm. Choclate chip cheesecake filling has chocolate chips added to it which melt while baking and give a marbled effect to the dessert. Chips used could be of dark, milk or white chocolate. The cheesecake is also served sprinkled with chocolate chips. Some chip cheesecake recipes add colored chocolate pieces to create variety.
