Chipotle

Chipotle is a smoke dried jalapeno chili and is used widely as an ingredient in Mexican and Mexican-American cuisine. It is especially used more in Texas. The chipotle became popular in the US as an ingredient after the 20th century and the production of jalapenos and its different varieties started to move into the US rather than being confined to Mexico. Choptle is used as a key ingredient in many Mexican dishes and some salsas. Chipotles are also used in the preparation a meat marinade called adobo.
