Cheese Wonton is a Chinese appetizer served in most restaurants before meals. It is a tasty snack option, which can be baked or fried.

While other preparations are made for the cheese wontons, oil for deep frying can be heated in a fryer, or a small wok. In the meantime, the egg is to be beaten in a small bowl. The whole of cream cheese and sugar need to be mixed with this beaten egg. This makes the cheese mixture for the wontons ready. The mixture is spooned into the wonton wrappers, right at the centre of the wonton wrapper. The wontons can be folded into any shape as per one’s creativity. However, while folding the wanton wrappers, the edges need to be sealed properly to avoid any cheese mixture leaking out during deep frying. In order to get a perfect seal the edges of the wonton wrappers should be moistened with very little water, and then sealed. This will prevent the wonton wrappers from opening up, while they are being fried. Once all the wontons are prepared they should be dropped into the oil for deep frying. To avoid the wontons from sticking together, care should be taken to drop only a few wantons at a time for frying. The wontons can be removed from the oil once both the sides have turned golden brown. They should be placed on a kitchen towel to drain out any excess oil, before serving. The wonton should be served hot, with any choice of dips, sauces, or just by themselves.

It contains total fat of 6.9 gms and saturated fat of 4 gms. Each serving also contains 4.9 gms protein, 7.7 gms sugar, 0.5 gms dietary fibre and 26.7 gms of total carbohydrate.
