Celestial tea was invented by Peggy Clute, Mo Siegel, Lucinda Ziesings and John hay. These were the founders of the company who initially sold the herbs and scented flowers picked from the mountain ranges near Boulder. As soon as they got success in their work, they started a company by the name ‘Celestial Seasoning’ and the name of the company was kept after the nickname of Lucinda.

By the year 1977, the company started selling their products to the international market and changed their headquarters for a couple of times. In 1984, Kraft Foods had purchased the company and expanded the brands marketing to both national and international levels.
