A few popular variations of Cambodian noodles are discussed hereunder:

  • Cambodian noodle soup (khemr soup)- noodles are used in various Cambodian soup recipes, along with addition of several other ingredients like meat (pork, chicken, or beef), onions, tomatoes, broth, spices, and seasoning ingredients like fish sauce, brown sugar, and soy sauce. The soup can be topped with sweet onions, chilli sauce, pickled jalapenos, mung bean sprouts, and cilantro leaves before serving.

  • Cambodian fried rice noodles- fish sauce dressing is one of the main ingredients of this Cambodian dish. This dish is prepared by frying water soaked rice noodles and eggs one by one, and then arranging them properly on a serving dish. The serving dish is lined with fried rice noodles, which are topped with shredded fried eggs. Thereafter, chopped peanuts are sprinkled, followed by dressing the dish with fish sauce. The dish can be garnished with roasted peanuts and fresh herbs before serving.
