Cup Cake has been around since the 19th century. The classic Cup Cake was first cooked in United States of America at a time when there was changeover from weighing ingredients to measuring ingredients. It is said that Cake Cup got its name from the fact that originally it was cooked in cups and there is another belief that since the ingredients were measured out with a cup, the name Cup Cake came into existence. Since it saved a lot of time in the kitchen, the Cup Cake was an instant hit. It is quite popular with the present day youngsters as well because of the variety of Cup Cakes that are available in the market. Cup Cakes have created a trendy culture of their own in the culinary world. They are so popular even today that there are specific cookbooks dedicated to Cup Cakes.

 

Common Ingredients of Cup Cake

The ingredients of a Cup Cake are easily available in the market, unless it is of an exotic variety. It only requires a mug or a bowl to mix the ingredients such as cake flour, egg, sugar, milk, oil and flavor of choice. Any other ingredient specific to that particular cup cake can be added to the mixture before baking. Cup Cakes can be made in differently-shaped cups to give them an artistic touch and break the monotony of eating only round shaped ones.

 

Preparation of Cup Cake 

Cup Cake is very convenient to make; in most cases the preparation time is not more than a few minutes. Initially all the ingredients are thoroughly blended in a mixing bowl and once the mixture derives the consistency, it is poured into Cake Cup, which is later baked.
